PRIVATE AND NHS EYE EXAMINATIONS

Eye examinations are an essential part of eye care. We provide private and NHS eye examinations from our conveniently located practice in Helston. All the examinations we offer run a fundamental set of tests to assess vision and eye health, while advanced examinations include additional testing like OCT scans to examine your eyes in more depth. Depending on your eye care needs, we can tailor your examination to each patient so you get testing that’s right for you.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR EYE EXAMINATION

An eye examination is not just a test to see if you need a prescription but a complete assessment of your eyesight and eye health. Your optometrist will ask you some questions about your health and family history before carrying out tests to check your vision, assess the health of the different parts of your eyes and screen for eye conditions. At the end of the exam, they will explain any recommendations for vision solutions and professional or personal eye care.

ENHANCED EYECARE WITH oct TECHNOLOGY

Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a type of eye scan designed to examine the back of the eyes that cannot be easily examined by other equipment. This allows your optometrist to carry out a more in-depth examination of your eye health and look for eye conditions that may still be in the earliest stages of development. It’s up to you whether you would like an OCT scan but they are particularly recommended if you are experiencing symptoms, are over 60 or have a family history of eye conditions like glaucoma or diabetes.
